A series podcast on debunking myths around sustainability and promoting green lifestyle

Opportunity Identification
While working at GreenHub, I identified an opportunity to diversify our communications strategy by introducing a podcast channel focused on environmental sustainability. At the time, our outreach efforts were primarily limited to traditional methods such as social media posts, newsletters, and reports. Recognising the growing popularity of audio content, especially among younger audiences, I proposed a podcast as a dynamic and accessible platform to engage a broader audience.

Research and Planning
To support this initiative, I conducted extensive market research on podcast trends, focusing on the rising interest in environmental topics. I analyzed successful environmental podcasts to identify best practices and unique value propositions. Furthermore, I studied our existing audience’s preferences to ensure alignment with their interests and pinpoint areas where a podcast could enhance our impact.

Goal setting
Raise awareness of environmental sustainability issues and engage a broader audience, particularly younger listeners.

Content strategy

I used an Idea Bank to categorise topics into overarching themes (e.g., sustainable eating, fashion, and lifestyle) to maintain a cohesive narrative. Then I organised episodes by theme, with clear formats, assigned hosts, and scheduled publish dates. This ensured a balance of content types and consistency in releases.
